Brief Introduction of Chintamani CMC:-
The Chintamani City Municipal Council (CMC) was constituted in 28th November 1938
This town is named after its founder Chintamani Rao, a maratha Chieftain.

It is famous for its gold and silver trade and its agarbathi(incense) industry.
It is also famous for snacks such as chakli, nippat, groundnuts and others
One of the oldest dargahs in Karnataka, the Murugmulla Dargah of Fakhi Shah Wali about 8 Kms from Chintamani.
Kaiwara,and Varadaraja Temple draws thousands of pilgrims.
A jewellery market has also been thriving in this town for many decades now.
